The COVID-19 pandemic caused a huge demand for alcohol-based hand sanitizer to reduce viral transmission when soap and water were not readily available. This need resulted in a nationwide shortage, impacting first responders and public safety organizations like MVM Inc. who utilize them daily to protect those in their care.

The pandemic called for innovative ways to source the much-needed resource. Our corporate team was able to partner with distilleries in Texas that were shifting gears to produce sanitizer during this time of crisis. This gave us the opportunity to obtain what we needed to ensure the safety of the children and families we support and help our local first responders.

A dedicated member of our San Antonio team volunteered to drive over 200 miles to Gulf Coast Distillery in Houston, TX, to pick up over 500 gallons of hand sanitizer. Upon return, MVM partnered with the 100 Club of San Antonio to distribute the valuable hand sanitizer to first responders in San Antonio and the surrounding areas.
