MVM is founded in Anaheim, California by former secret service agents Dario Marquez, Charles Vance, and Bill Mattman to provide executive protection and training services. Shortly thereafter they relocate the company to the Washington, DC metro area.
Dario and Karen Marquez purchase the company from the other two original founders.
MVM wins its first-ever Government contract, with the U.S. Department of State.

MVM is recognized as one of the fastest-growing firms of its type in the nation by INC magazine.
MVM is awarded its first contract with the Department of Justice.
MVM wins its first contract with the Department of Health and Human Services.
Dario and Karen Marquez are named Entrepreneurs of the Year by the Greater Washington Ibero American Chamber of Commerce.
Louie McKinney, a three-time Presidential appointee and the first person in the history of the U.S. Marshals to rise through the ranks from Deputy Marshal to Acting Director, joins MVM’s executive team.
MVM wins its first contract with the newly formed Department of Homeland Security.
MVM acquires Sounds of Language (SOL) Translation Services; with this acquisition, Maria Campos joins MVM’s executive team.
Kevin Marquez joins his family’s business as MVM’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
MVM moves its headquarters from Tyson’s Corner to Ashburn, Virginia.
Dario Marquez sells MVM to Kevin Marquez and transitions into a new role as MVM’s Chairman.
MVM employs over 2,500 personnel and has successfully operated in all 50 states and over 70 countries around the world.
