On May 3, 2007, MVM’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Dario Marquez, was honored with the "Hispanic Business Person of the Year Award" presented by the Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (VHCC) at the Annual Hispanic Gala in Richmond. The award was presented by VHCC’s President, Mr. Michel Zajur.
Mr. Marquez was selected for this prestigious award based on his outstanding business achievements and contributions to the Hispanic Community. His leadership abilities and business acumen are demonstrated by the successes of MVM and verified by the organizations who have selected Mr. Marquez as a member of their Board of Directors. Indeed, Mr. Marquez was recently recognized by Hispanic Executive Quarterly as one of the 100 most influential Hispanics in the United States.
The Annual Hispanic Gala took place at the Science Museum of Virginia. This year’s aquatic theme transformed a historic railroad station into an oceanic paradise with marine fish tanks accenting the tropical images flooding the walls and ceiling. Guests included prominent Business Leaders as well as Federal and State Officials. Addresses were given by the Governor of Virginia in addition to Latin American Ambassadors representing several Hispanic countries. |

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Marquez asked, "Can a business person have any greater honor than to be recognized by his peers as worthy of their recognition?" Certainly he was celebrated by many peers that evening. Mr. Marquez, during his speech, recognized the employees of MVM for their dedication and tremendous contributions to his success. The men and women of MVM can justifiably be proud of being led by the recipient of such a prestigious award. |
