History

MVM was founded in 1979 by three former Secret Service agents who applied their experience, training, and commitment to provide successful Security, Staffing, Training and Translation services to the government sector. Today, Mr. Dario Marquez, Jr., one of the original founders, remains at the head of the company as the owner and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Marquez is a U.S. citizen, as are the corporate staff and Board members that guide MVM operations.

In the ensuing years, MVM has steadily risen to industry prominence, establishing a track record of outstanding performance in a variety of security services projects throughout the United States and the world. In the 1980s, MVM entered the federal government arena with the award of a contract by the Department of State to supply Cleared Armed Guards to U.S. embassies throughout the world. From 1991-1993, MVM was recognized by Inc. Magazine as one of the 500 fastest growing privately held firms in the country.

In the mid-1990s, MVM was awarded a number of major contracts with large federal agencies. Since that time, an ever-growing list of customers has turned to MVM to provide quality solutions to their critical security requirements. Organizations such as the Department of Justice, U.S. Marshals Service, Internal Revenue Service, Federal Protective Service, the Department of Energy, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the Smithsonian Museum have chosen to partner with MVM.

This confidence in MVM’s capabilities is illustrated by our business results. MVM’s annual revenue went from $30 million in 1997, to almost $200 million in 2006. Over the same period, the number of employees has grown from 700 to over 3,000.
